Standing Rockers

Warming Up


Welcome to our first blog post on the core exercises we frequently perform on the Fit Boards. These posts are intended to be simple and informative. Please feel free to ask any questions. We'd be glad to answer!

Each of our sessions on the Fit Boards begins with a Rocker Set. Today, we will specifically address the Standing Rockers. The benefit of the Forward Facing Standing Rockers is to warm up those core muscles. 

We start by getting on the boards (always stepping across the center) facing forward. Our feet are aligned along the length of the board, just under our shoulders.  During the Standing Rockers, we attempt to keep our shoulders even and let our hips, legs and lower back do the work.

Another benefit of starting with the Standing Rockers is to check your board -- is it balanced correctly on the rockers?
